International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) works in over 40 countries to protect the basic legal rights of ordinary individuals. Specifically, IBJ’s working model enshrines early access to legal counsel as the ultimate safeguard against torture in prisons around the world.

So how does The Good Chocolate Company fit it? This year, the Good Chocolate Company in Belgium donated a shipment of Lavlé, a delicious dark chocolate, to IBJ’s Holiday Giving campaign. Partnering with several organizations, including Microsoft, the WINConference, and Emmanuel Church in Geneva, IBJ raised thousands in support of its courageous lawyers on the ground fighting to end investigative torture and ensure that every woman, man and child has access to justice.

The funds raised from this year’s IBJ Holiday Giving campaign go towards providing direct legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer, organizing educational campaigns to inform people of their rights, and to supporting the WOMEN JusticeMakers program. Through these activities and other global programs, IBJ addresses a crucial problem: the systematic violation of legal rights of detainees.

Since 2000, IBJ has represented over 30,000 individuals at risk for torture and provided them with legal protection.

On behalf of the team at International Bridges to Justice and the Good Chocolate Company, we thank the many contributors to the 2016 Holiday Giving campaign for their support. For those who still want to make a donation, there is still time! Donate to the IBJ Holiday Giving campaign on Crowdrise today.
