Our Partners
Founded in 2000 as the collaborative result of interested lawyers, academics, and business leaders, International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) would not have succeeded in its programs without the support of an ever-expanding network of partners, donors and contributors, to whom we remain indebted today.
Program Partners
In the conduct of our program activities, IBJ partners with a variety of organizations: governmental authorities, criminal defense and legal aid organizations, local and international bar associations, public defender offices, community organizations, universities, and religious communities.
| Legal Aid of Cambodia
IBJ started its work in Cambodia in partnership with LAC which is one the key legal aid services providers in the country. IBJ work with LAC to manage its Rattanakiri Province office especially attending to cases of indigenous people. |

| Association for the Protection of Human Rights and Detainees (APRODH)
APRODH, a leading human rights group working in the area of prevention of torture and pre-trial detainees, is IBJ’s key partner in Burundi with whom IBJ launched an advisement of rights poster campaign in 2007 focusing on the rights of the accused person. |

IBJ signed a memorandum of understanding with the Burundi Bar Association in 2006 to work together to improve access to criminal defense lawyers by all people of Burundi as well to improve legal skills of criminal defense lawyers. |

| Legal Resources Foundation (Zimbabwe)
LRF is a charitable trust working to improve the accessibility of legal services to all sections of Zimbabwe’s population. LRF operates legal advice centres in several towns and villages. LRF also runs a Legal Education Programme, Legal Publications Unit and an Advocacy and Research Programme. Together with LSZ, LRF is working with IBJ on the production of standardized legal training toolkits for local criminal defence lawyers, prosecutors and magistrates. |

| Law Society of Zimbabwe
LSZ manages and regulates Zimbabwe’s legal profession, promotes the study of the law and works for justice, human rights, rule of law and independence of the judiciary. LSZ and IBJ are currently working on the production of standardized legal training toolkits for Zimbabwe’s criminal defence lawyers, prosecutors and magistrates. |

| Office of the Prosecutor General (Rwanda)
IBJ has signed a statement of agreement with the Office of the Prosecutor General in Rwanda to carry out training activities to improve the rule of law in the country, and to ensure that prosecutions are carried out protecting legal rights of criminally accused. |

IBJ has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kigali Bar Association to train criminal defense lawyers and raise awareness of rights of criminally accused persons. |

IBJ programs in Burundi, Cambodia and Zimbabwe are funded by the European Union.
