Watch the livestream of “Speak Up” a youth for youth justice gathering to catch the following event highlights: 💙
🗣️ Powerful panel discussion with our Youth Charter Defenders from DR Congo (Noel Mbungu), Burundi (Anne Bella), India (Krishna Sharma), and our program manager Myanmar (Kyi Suu) sharing their groundbreaking projects protecting children in conflict with the law;
🎤 Moving spoken word performance by Stanford University undergraduate Kylan Denney that brought the urgency of youth justice to life;
🖌️ Interactive poetry workshop led by our interns Intisar Alkhatib and Kylan Denney;
🎼 Beautiful performance of “Stand By Me” by the Geneva Gospel Choir (@christine house).

🌍 Our Youth Charter Defenders are on-the-ground leading incredible projects across 7 countries, from judicial assistance for war-displaced children in DR Congo to addressing children in prisons in India. Their work embodies the Charter’s 10 core articles demanding essential legal and human rights for every child. Defenders representing children in conflict with the law from across the world shared their stories in the form of a Spoken Word Poetry Film, highlighting the intersection of creating art and access to justice.

🙌 Thank you to Institut Florimont for hosting this meaningful event, and to everyone who joined us in supporting youth justice reform worldwide.

Together, with the power of youth, we’re changing the world. 🤝
