The Innovation: “RiseUp Desa: Legal Support for Women & Vulnerable Groups”

Based in East Nusa Tenggara, Adelaide’s project aims to provide direct legal assistance in the form of consultancy and legal representation to women in conflict with the law, particularly those in human trafficking hotspots. Through the project, a gender-sensitive legal case handling system at the village level in rural areas will be established. A system which is recognized and supported by practical guidelines and legal aid offices. The goal is to ensure women and vulnerable groups in villages and rural areas have sustainable access to inclusive and gender-sensitive legal assistance.
