Fitriyah has been a lawyer since 2011. She is Chief of Jember Women’s Care Movement, as well as Director of Jentera Perempuan Indonesia.
The Innovation: “Empowered Women Before the Law”
Based in Jember Regency, East Java, Fitriyah’s project will empower women to advocate for their legal rights through vocational trainings and public campaigns. Through increased understanding of basic legal rights and increased access to legal representation the initiative will contribute to changes in social and cultural norms that affect women in conflict with the law, including reduced stigma from society.
